I am looking to go fishing this weekend (weather permitting). I was just wondering if anyone has any good fishing locations in Ontario. I am interested in cathing Bass. I am also not looking to travel to far (maybe at most 1.5 hours).

I don't mind renting a boat if I have to as I want to have a good fishing experience and hopefully catch the "big one" :cheesygri

I have tried Lake Simcoe and Lake Scugog, but I didn't catch anything substantial as I think those lake are over fished.

Also, what is a good time within the day to and what fishing tips do I need (live bait or lures?, fish in weeds or deep water? etc)

Thanks for all the help!

Last time I checked, Ontario was a pretty big province. You might want to state your starting location. ;)

since you wanna stay local you can catch crabs at church and wellesley this weekend.

rent a boat at scugog and you'll have better luck. theres tons of bass in there, not to mention muskie and walleye.
