switching from engineering to commerce?

hello every1


I am an engineer in biotechnology(from India), presently living in calgary, canada. I am not pursuing the field of biotechnology as there is no scope in calgary and neither am i interested. Maths and accounts like fields have always fascinated me. I am looking forward to pursue B.comm in the uni of calgary. plz suggest me if i have any option other than B.comm in accounting field?? what are the job prospects after B.comm? Is it a right decision switching from engineering to commerce?

If I were in your shoes,

Option 1: Apply for the MBA-CMA combined program

Option 2: Take courses (4 in total) that are required to qualify for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) accelerated program.

Option 3: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

I ll check in the u of c if there is a MBA-CMA program..and for the CFA and CMA programs dont i need a commerce degree? how long these courses are? job prospects? i heard B.comm from u of c would be a better option...any suggestions?

You don't need a Bcom to enroll in CMA or CFA.
As a matter of fact, CFA is extremely popular with engineers.

thanks a lot for ur help...i went thru d website..i dont have the pre-requisite courses they need for an MBA-CMA program..anyways i ll study other options...is there any CMA CFA program in the uni of calgary???
