I remember seeing this in the Metro. I don't think tethering was allowed, just basic on-device browsing and WAP, plus BB messenger. Thats it.
I'll see if I can find the Metro ad.
Edit: Found it:

See the (5) by the 1GB under the Bell plan, well, its clearly outlined in the fine print. But if OP got the plan, then maybe its just a typo of some sort in the advertisement....
Also, does the BB plan from Rogers include tethering?

no mention about actual text messaging being included, as well as CID, etc.. right? Looks like SAF is $6.95 as well, no?

Actually for Bell its 8.95 + 99 (911 free) and you pay for incoming texts. Im pretty sure Rogers retentions can do MUCH better than Bell could

I find the sentence "The 3G BlackBerry Curve from Bell is 5x faster than the 2G BlackBerry Curve from Rogers." in Bell's ad really funny.

it's bell. nothing with them makes sense. crappy phones, crappy service, crappy prices.
if bell wasn't in the pockets of the governments, they would have been shut down ages ago.

Rogers BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 is GSM/GPRS/EDGE Bands: 850/900/1800/1900 only :!: it's 2.5G
That's why Bell say: The 3G BlackBerry Curve from Bell is 5x faster than the 2G BlackBerry Curve from Rogers. :cheesygri

Well, the only reason I remembered it was because I was reading through the newspaper, I had seen and it caught my eye that they would mis-advertise, and not just one thing, everything, LOL. I then noticed the (5) and was more intrigued, LOL, so thats how I remembered.
You can see the whole ad in Friday's Toronto Metro for more, ha! metro's website has an archive of all their papers.

Good point, but Rogers doesn't have a 3G curve, only the 3G Bold. I guess that is not comparing apples to apples.

It would be really nice if the OP put Bell in the subject line ... far less people would open the topic and therefore not waste their time to find it's a crappy offer from a crappier company offering CDMA phones and thus useless to anyone who 1) has a high end non-CDMA phone and 2) travels.

I know my firm has a corp plan for BBs from Bell and the blackberry's that we get do work outside. Bare in mind that if you are really roaming away all over the world, you wouldn't be worrying about $45 or $150 BB plan.
Eventhough I am on Rogers. I do have lines in the family that have been with Bell for over 7 years and knock on wood, reception and phone service has always been rock solid with Bell.
I travel to North America and Bell coverage is pretty extensive everywhere.
This GSM fanboyism without any facts is useless.

Just remember, whenever you have any issues that require calling customer service, YOU WILL BE CALLING AGENTS IN MUMBAI !!
To get around this, select French as your language, all French agents speak English as well. Sorry, no French speaking agents in Mumbai

hope the new GSM companies that come out will challenge Rogers for cheaper fees and lesser years for contracts. 2 years is not that bad.

This GSM fanboyism without any facts is useless.Development of CDMA phones is an afterthough for most manufacturers, with the only draw being the size of the NA market. Yes, travel throughout NA is non-problematic, but to me travel includes through all of Europe and Asia. Although it's pricier, I depend on getting off planes and having immediate access to messages, email, web or phone service. Plus, the covert and essentially non-optional way they try to lock you in on plans - be it cell, satellite, or DSL for the next many years of your life, is frankly immoral, yet people blindly consent to it; once you realize this is not the case in most other places in the world, and in many cases user costs are less in economies where the cost of living is overall higher, you realize how gloated and inefficient their structure here is. It is great though in that it assures employment for an expansive enterprise which only survives because Rogers and others are similarly disfunctional.

Development of CDMA phones is an afterthough for most manufacturers,
or a test ground for GSM. Look at Palm Pre and BB Storm.
