I know this deal is from the other thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=751568), but haven't seen anyone talked about it. So thought of posting a separate thread, if it helps anyone.
Acom Data Samba 3.5IN IDE SATA Hard Drive Enclosure USB 2.0 Fanless Obsidian Black is $29.99 at Ncix sale (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=27417&promoid=1087) until tomorrow, and $40.31 at Staples (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=728545&affixedcode=WW). If you pricematch, the price comes to after 10% difference and after tax $32.72.
There is a Manufacturer's rebate of $10 (http://www.mirhelp.com/acomdata/acomdata-june-rebates-09) valid till end of this month, so the final price comes to $22.72, which is a very good price from both SATA and PATA enclosure.
This enclosure has got great reviews and it comes in a retail box, not OEM. I am using one, and love it already. Its YMMV I guess when you PM at staples with NCIX. Good luck PMing Staples!

I bought the enclosure from NCIX in February and it also had a $10 MIR...haven't gotten anything yet. I think it's a scam.

Same here. I had sent this in along with a Gigabyte MIR for a motherboard, and I have already gotten a confirmation email from the motherboard stating that the cheque is on the way. No word at all from this enclosure.

I am surprised that they PMed without adding in any shipping fees. No go with an online PM request.

Online PM request at Staples will always add shipping, unless you get free shipping. But stores are always big YMMV PMing in-store. They have PMed for me this time, but the same store denied in the past.

Good luck with the MIR. I'm still waiting for mine from Dec 08.

Warning: DO NOT buy anything from this company expecting a rebate, as it will likely never arrive and you'll only get some activity after emailing and calling a few times.
Unbelievable the work they make you do to get a measly $10 - I'd rather not buy their products.
This is 100% a scam, as I've never had a problem with a rebate in my life, but mention AcomData rebates to anyone in the PC business and they'll immediately give you some horror stories.

I once bought an AcomData external drive with a MIR and after I submitted it, I found out about the horror stories with their rebates. Luckily, I got my rebate without incident about 4 months later but I haven't wanted to try my luck with them again.
