Lightning fast. I actually think its more than twice as fast as they state. Programs install very very fast from app store and from itunes. Backups take seconds, not 20-40 mins. Programs start up instantly, not after 5 seconds.

The camera is a tiny bit better but nothing to write home about and the compass is not 100% accurate all the time (maybe a software bug)

Does anyone talk about transfer speeds? I know with the 3G they used a very slow chip.

Giving mine a try for the first time today and as many people said, this phone is fast, everthing runs smoothly with no delay. I am also impressed with the 3g speed as well. I really hope there will be a jailbreak out soon go this to make it complete

It's a solid all round phone, but it's really not worth it to upgrade from a 3G and I really hate the lack of customization without jailbreaking.

If you don't have an iPhone and it does get jailbroken, then the 3GS should be on the top of your list, it's just a joy to use with how smoothly it runs compared to the 3G.

Can you use an Iphone to play games/listen to music without inserting in a sim card? Either for 3G or 3GS?

Well i'm upgrading from a 3G to a 3GS and I think think time(when they realease it) I will jailbreak my phone.
I know people keep talking about how much better it make the phone but I always heard of complaint of it slowing down your phone. At least with the 3GS it should be able to handle it quite well.
