Hi

so i have a friend who work @ a Rogers store, so i visited him on friday to ask about the new iPhone 3G S, apparently their system crashed, so he couldnt check my account to see how much would it be for an upgrade.

He pulled out the info sheet and told me that it would cost me 449.99 CND for a 16 GB, since my contract was not a year old (I was 15 days short of a year), and i was not eligible for an upgrade because of the new 2 years policy on smartphones. I told him I was going to think about it. He said he would give a call to the office to get the offical word about the prices

So a day later, while I was at work, he gave me a call saying "Yo, I could get a 16 GB for 199.99 ??", I was like "WHAT ? WHY? Do it !!!" He told me that was what he was told and he even included the I# for that call in the bill he gave me, and I walked out with a white 16GB :cheesygri

I dont know if there is similar experience out there, but i would like to hear about them

did you have the previous 3g iphone? cause they have that deal going on

plus i think the fact that it was your friend helped too :P

as there are certain restrictions and things you have to meet to get it at 199. but that all depends on the rep aka ur buddy lol

Yes, that was the lucky part, I just did a hardware upgrade last year for the previous 3g iphone, 3 years extension + 30 bucks data plan, there is NO way i can get it for 199 on June 19 .....

I am betting it is the rep's mistake rather than my friends help (HUGE credit goes to him, dont get me wrong), and thats why i take the deal right away because it might change the next day

Not a mistake, its a promo..there's a thread made on this, more info there.

lol alot of people are getting this "mistake" infact people are calling it a promo instead.

the only thing that might be special is if your plan total is under $100 per month maybe your friend helped you to still qualify as some people have been able to.

exactly my voice plan is only 30 dollars + 30 dollars data, I don't know what did my friend said, I didn't even bother asking lol

Now I think it must be a mistake, from the info given, I fall under this category

2) If you got an iPhone between July 11th and Dec 31st and don’t spend $100 a month then you get $250 off if you tack an extra year on your contract. So, 16GB 3Gs for $449 and 32GB 3Gs for $549. This offer expires July 31st 2009.

I had my iPhone 9 months, got the 32 gig for 400.... 16 was 279

me and my other friend both called Rogers Saturday .... our monthly bills are never over $100. But we each still got off with a 32GB 3GS for $299.

Now let's just hope they don't readjust our bills later
