Charger and two lithium battery packs - reg. $29.99 on sale for $19.99
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41YbGFHfwVL._SL500_AA280_.jpg
I have always eyed the InCharge Dual Charge Station for the Wii when walking past it in my local Costco. I wasn't too crazy about the $30 price, though, and figured I would just order one from Monoprice. Well today, lo and behold, the prices were marked down $10 off for both the Wii and PS3 chargers. Needless to say, I grabbed one for my Wii (item #169975).
Very good reviews on Amazon for the Wii charger. You don't have to remove the silicon sleeves as there are no contacts to line up. It just charges right through them!
This was at the St. Catharines, ON store. Not sure if this is nationwide so YMMV.

I was the Markham East store last week and saw the sign for the charger...but alas no charger in stock. I just assumed it was a local store thingy. Looks like i need to go on the hunt for the charger at other stores now. thanks OP

That's correct. The Wii charging kit mentioned above comes with special lithium polymer battery packs that replace the AA's batteries and the original Wii remote battery compartment door.

You're probably right. Are there any charger stands that can do that?
Great for those who don't have/want/need the Motionplus (and for PS3 users too).

I have a Wii charging station I bought at Costco.
It works fine but there's no accommodation for the wrist strap.
When the strap is attached, its just a little too tall to sit in the charging tray and the contacts do not touch.
I find I have to take off the wrist strap to charge it.
Frankly it would be nice to take the batteries off the nunchuk and charge them on their own.

I didn't pay attention to the PS3 version, but I would assume it looks like this:

It must be different than the InCharge brand, because there are no contacts on this one.

So, I never even paid attention to my PS3 controller, but are the battery packs replaceable? If so, does the PS3 stand come with packs, like the Wii one?

No, DS3/SixAxis has built-in non-removable battery packs.

What, these are induction chargers??
If so, I'm grabbing two! No more having to rip my silicone sleeves off everytime I need to recharge my batteries.

I think the old Intac induction chargers for the Wii works for the MotionPlus add ons too.

Anyone know if the PS3 one comes with an AC adapter? I bought the Intec one a while ago and was hoping that it would work with an AC to mini-usb adapter, but it doesn't look like the adapter provides enough juice to charge the controllers. It only charges when the charging stn is plugged into a computer or PS3. I can't seem to figure out why

Errr "removable" in the sense that you can easily slide out the battery without taking apart the controller itself and voiding the warranty removable.

The amazon pic shows the PS3 ones upright as well, and it's description says, just sit them on the base, so is it induction as well? And yeah, hopefully regular AC adapter can be used too, rather than having to use USB!

Off the Amazon page:
"This charger comes with an adapter that clips onto the PS3 controller and allows the controller to charge by just resting on the base."
Looks like there's an adapter that plugs into the controller's USB outlet. I'll have to check this out in store. Need to see if it is in fact the one at Amazon and how this actually works.

I checked out the PS3 ones at Costco last night and they are basically the ones in the link from Amazon posted earlier in the thread. Didn't purchase it as I don't like the idea of having to clip more hardware on the controller. Couldn't confirm whether an AC adapter was included either.

What batteries, the charger has no batteries in it and the PS3 controller doesn't use the exchangable batteries like the Wii ones. The charger is what I was talking about, DX has some similar ones to the Costco ones for less than $10. Saw one at RCSS today though, that you lay the PS3 controller in, there are 4 pins that are slightly raised that it appears make contact with the USB port.
Like this one, which could be what the other poster was talking about the connector that hooks into the usb? Looks like it wouldn't add any bulk to the controller where you hold it at least.

The Costco one was similar to this one, the connector that you clip onto the controller plugs into the usb port and rests "between" where your hands would normally grip the controller.

Yes but does it come with an AC adapter? the intec one I purchased previously was similar and the only way it charges is if I plug it via USB into a computer or PS3. I've tried various USB to AC adapters with no luck. The pretty blue LEDS on the charging station light up but the controller's don't charge.

No problem, you can use rechareable AAs. It just becomes a PITA if you use those silicone skins that wrap around. Problem is, a lot of those chargers don't accommodate them either (except for OPs).

For those looking for this charger kit, make sure that you scan the actual price. Picked one up today... the package had a sticker priced at $29.99 but there was a sign that described the item and it had a price of $19.97 on it. Took it to a price scanner to confirm that it was $19.97 :)
FYI, this was at the Pointe-Claire Costco. There were about 6 Wii models left, about a dozen Xbox versions, as well as about 18 PS3 models left. Like the Wii model, they were marked as $29.99 but they were listed (on a sign) at $19.97 each (did not scan those prices).

Was it marked as $29.99 but scanned in at $19.97, or was $19.97 the price you saw on it?
