I have been shopping for BR players lately. Last week I bought the S360 (impulsively) @ WalMart since it was $319, I know that FS, BB and other stores are selling them for $349 so I thought it was great!

Anyways then I came back to my senses that I will return it and go to FS and PM it with 10% more off. (its about 3km)

So today I just went to BB to check it out but its on sale for $314!

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10124075&catid=25174

However in the flyer I don't think it shows that its $314 it shows as $349 (BUNDLE) with 3 BR movies not a good deal IMO with the BR movies.

The price is not very hot but I think its a good deal... Esp its a Sony, I don't feel like buying Insignia. Sony IMO is great for Video NOT for audio...

FYI. This was just $269 on the Dell days of deals. PM FS would have been about $261.

If you ask me the extra hundred bucks is well worth it to just skip this and get a PS3. It's a better/faster/future-proof BD player, never mind the fact that it's a great game system.

Plus, I don't know how your math is working out. It really doesn't make any sense, I think you have the whole PM process completely mixed up.

If you want a budget blu-ray player, see if you can still find the $149 LG BD300 which Best Buy is clearing out this week. I bought one and it's been great so far.

If you want something better, then go all out and get an Oppo BDP-83 for $575, which is and will be the ebst BR player for some time to come.

Otherwise, If you're thinking of spending ~$300, that's right, get a PS3. Since it was released, many other BR players have come and gone, msot of which are now obsolete pretty much. The PS3 consistently gets firmware updates, and will always be useful.

What do you mean by 10% off? If u are talking about price matching it will be 10% the difference not 10% off. So it will be $349.99-$314.99= $35 - 10% = $3.50, so $314.99-$3.50= $311.49 + Tax = $ 351.98

My calculation was messed up...

Damn I missed that...

Well the thing is that I don't play console games, I am more of a PC gamer. I have the WD-TV, I have a Laptop (T-500) connected to my Hometheatre and I have a HTPC/HTGPC (Core i7 setup) in my room. Plus I don't really like how the PS3 looks like with my HT system setup. So needless to say the only thing I am really missing out on PS3 is the gigabit LAN. Plus annoying part is buying a separate remote control.

I have been contemplating for the longest time about getting a PS3, I have PS2 which I only use it for Rockband and even then I haven't played with it for a long time. IF I did not have a WD-TV, laptop or even the HTPC then I would get the PS3.

My math was messed up, wrong calculation...

Buy a PS3. It's the best Blu-Ray Player on the market.
