Okay if the logitech set does happen to go on sale, how fast do they sell out? Do you have to stay up for it?

the z series logitech speakers are generally awesome. i have a set of z-2300 2.1 that's absolutely amazing and I even use it as a guitar output. i think the bass is a bit excessive but many like it.

a deal on x-5500 would be sweet.

What is so good about it? Well, I've had a set since it was first released (after owning a set of Z680) and while the top-end tends to be a bit weak and bright (likely due to the fact that there is no separate tweeter), there is no downfall at the $200 price level.

You will not find a better value for ANY 5.1 speakers at that price.

Only thing that caught my eye is the external slim DVD drive. It looks like the same type of thing that I bought from Staples a while back and ripped out the drive to upgrade an older laptop.

If you're looking for a replacement DVD/R/RW/RAM/CDR/RW laptop drive, $70 sounds pretty good....
