Iphone 3g used market prices

i'm just wondering. With the Iphone 3GS now out what do you think is a fair price to pay for a used 3G iphone?

Just wondering if we're gonna see the used market dip below $300 bucks.

I'm pretty sure I recently saw a couple of 8GB iPhone 3G's in the BST forum here for an asking price of under $300. There seem to be a lot of used 3G's on the market at the moment, which will put downward pressure on prices.

I think it will stay around the $300 mark especially for the time that they can't unlock the 3GS.

plus $300 is a reasonable amount for a phone that retails for $99 with a 3 year voice+data contract

I just bought a mint condition jailbroken/unlocked 3G 16GB off a guy who upgraded to the 3G S, for $350. I consider it an awesome deal.

I was in negotiations with one other guy who had his 3G 8GB up for $250 (but it sold within an hour) and another guy who was selling his for $300 (but then I learned that it not only had scratches on it, but a crack as well).

The list prices seem to be all over the place in the second hand marketplace. Ignoring the obvious scammers (Usually list 16GBs for ~$250) I've seen the 8GB models range in price from $250 to $500, but most around $300-350 and the 16GB models range in price from $350 to $800 with most around $450-500.

IMO, one shouldn't be paying more than $100 more for the 16 GB over the 8GB. Those who are asking for $450 for the 16 GB are expecting too much unless it's brand NIB and never used.
