Alright so my mother has been handling all the billings from Rogers for over 10 years. This includes Cable TV, Internet, and 3 cell phone lines. I recently asked to see the Rogers bill since it is time for me to upgrade my cell phone (looking at the Iphone 3G). Turns out we've been paying whatever they wanted us to pay them for the past 10 years :(
My cell phone rates are as follows:
$32 for just 100 pooled weekday minutes, and another 100 shared weekday minutes
$8 call display
Free evening/weekends
$6.95 + 0.50 (standard?) SAF and 911
I have 1 year left on my contract.
Since I want to get an 8gb 3G Iphone, what should be my best course of action?
Call them up, threaten to switch to Fido, get their retentions plan. Then after I get a nice plan, ask for an upgrade to the Iphone?
From what I understand, if I were to sign up for an iphone, it would cost me $99 (not for sure if it's only for new customers) and I would have to extend my crappy contract for 3 years.
