Agreed. What is inside an Iphone 3Gs and an iPhone 3G is the physical hardware such as capability of doing 7.2Mbps HSPA, better battery life, better CPU and RAM and so on.

Looks like I don't have to have a jailbroken phone anymore. The only app. I really made use of was PDANet for the tethering.

When I upgrade, what will happen to any of my jail-broken apps I installed? Do I have to remove them?

The only safe way to do that is to call Rogers and tell them to block the internet.com APN and the iPhone APN on your account.

Any idea on how this works with the iPhone 2G?

you get some features but you dont get them all, even some of the ones that the phone is capable of. ie. mms. they say its hardware dependent but why was i able to send mms via jailbroken software on my 2g?

Can you send MMS messages without a plan that has it? If yes how much is the pay per use charge?

if you have a iphone data plan, they should start including mms in them. otherwise, it is 50c a message

installed! the search feature will probably come in handy..

i'm liking the 'sideways' texting. but it prevents you from seeing the prev. txt msgs above the texting area clearly.. but what can you do.. i guess you can only make the 'keys' so small

now anyone know how to setup MMS on the iphone? i have the $15 value pack (not iphone one) which includes 1000 mms per mth

i tried to send one and it wouldn't go through (red exclamation mark - asks me to retry and that doesn't work either)

i did this like how mlerner said

MAKE SURE rogers doesn't block txt msgn though.. they did for me by accident .. blocked 'everything'.

Try a full restore. If that doesn't work call Apple, they're excellent for support.

I just called FIDO and asked about whether or not I would be able to use tethering right now on my 6gb data.

He told me that when he opened my account, it says under the data option "tethering enabled"

I'm currently posting this very message using my iphone as a modem.

I have noticed that time for the calls isn't accurate to seconds, which is sad. Also they should have number of text messages sent/received displayed. Lastly, the shake to shuffle only works when your in the ipod and the screen is turned on, so whats the point why not just tap the ">>" arrow? The shake should be accessed even when in home mode. Anyways did you guys notice anything that they could have improved on?

Why are my group text messages (to more than one person) now classified as Group MMS. I just want to send the same text to more than one person. Was working fine before.

Anyone else notice this?

edit: Looked this **** up and it seems to be a common problem. Have to disable MMS for now. I constantly send SMS to larger groups. Shame Apple, quite backwards. Hope this gets fixed soon.
