ok? they always knock $50 off the price when you do a local pickup, it's a good deal. decent price for the N97 but the reviews so far have been average.

they are legit. i bought my E71 from them in store. i have heard some bad things about their shipping though so might be better to buy in store.

they are located in mississauga.

I can vouch for them as well. They're good. I highly recommend that you go to their Mississauga store to see what they have (they have a little stock room full of their inventories).
The store (more like a large office) they have is actually located in some larger building (which IMO was not easy to find on first try). Just make sure you call them before you go to get directions.

I'm amazed that after all these years, Nokia is still able to con people into spending inordinately disconnected amounts of money on their devices.
Honestly, How is ANY of their phones worth this much???
I only hope their firmware was finalized and stable enough to reflect the price tag.
My Experience with a $700 N96 sealed my outlook on Nokia for life. Good thing I returned it for a full refund after a day 3 firmware hard-crash on a Nokia firmware update from their website with a full battery.
I'll only buy a Nokia if it is heavily subsidized. The n95-8gb was about the extent of my Nokia appreciation. The n96 was 1/10 the n95-8 IS.

Didn't you mean The n96 was 1/10 the n95-***4*** IS? :D
And yes, Nokia does pull weird crap.
Some of their new phones are really expensive.
But then again, HTC Touch Pro 2 and Experia also are damn expensive.
It's the way it is with new phones that just came out.

OOps., yes absolutely. I haven't had my coffee yet. Plus I just picked up two Dell 23"ers. Woohooo.
Thing is...if the Product is QA'd sufficiently, and the BUILD quality is worth it...I can see it being worth $700+...but the way the n96 was fabricated. It felt like a $250 phone I could sell on Kijiji...meanwhile Nokia expected me to buy it for $700??? WTF?

lol. I've stayed away from nokia for many many years my friend.
My last phone with them was the N81? (the 4gb music phone with sennheiser headset).
The only thing that kept me with nokia until then was that they had excellent reception.
I used to think that the most important aspects of a phone was the hardware...until I was seriously proven wrong by macOS/Android.
Software is everything.

Oh...that is definately FA SHO!!!
Thing is...you can get the great RF + Battery life out of their BOTTOM-RUNG phones lol. The battery life...I doubt, will be as on par with the upper echelon (big screen devices..and perhaps understandably so..but who's to say if they start going with smaller and smaller batteries comparatively for their larger devices ;) ).

come on now, N96 was a flop. the E71 is an amazing phone, i've rarely heard anything negative about it. pricing is very high though, which is the largest drawback for Nokia. but their phones also retain value a lot better then other makes.

I preferred the N82... it was cheaper and it has a better cam. Micro SD support was more important to me than 8gb built in.

question - i'm using an old phone with a rogers contract that expires at the end of next year...can i get the N97 and add the 6GB/$30 data plan to my current contract and have it still expire at the end of next year (even though i am running the phone unlocked)?

Saw your post (thanks by the way) so I spoke to one of their employees and confirmed that this is true for online orders as well. Any orders made online will be shipped out tomorrow (Tuesday) and received on the 24th (Wednesday).
If what they say is true, this will be the best service I've ever received online. Lowest price I've found for the N97, free overnight shipping, prompt replies from reps... pretty amazing so far.

But they got such nice sexy screens, I admit though, their (flagship) phones are damn expensive for what they're really worth.

Yeah, I agree. They should probably look beyond the price like Apple did.
