A colleague told me today that his home owners association here in Toronto has received money to give away for home energy audits. I don’t have any solid details but he said that this was on top of the $150 rebate the government is already providing and basically covered the entire cost of the audit. It might be an idea to contact your local homeowners/rate payers association and see if they have a similar deal.

Many neighborhoods in the city have a group of residents who form a group to look after the interests of the neighborhood. Sometimes they help create or fight local bylaws. They look after building and zoning issues. And some have social events like fairs, dances and block parties.
