Tethering with BlackBerry Bold

On a 500MB Data Plan with Rogers.

I mentioned that I use only 100MB each month. Next week, I should have my new 13" Apple MacBook Pro and want to use my Bold with it.

I tried Google and I'm lost, don't know too much about this Tethering. Do I need to install a Software in my Bold and/or Pro? How quickly will 500MB be used up since I sharing it?

I've done it on my bold , how ever i am using vista so i'd think it's different .
400 mb isn't a whole lot when you are tethering .
