View Full Version : June Incentives '09 Nissan, VW & Subaru

Hi all. Does anybody know about what dealer incentives/rebates that are being offered @ Nissan for the Rogue, Volkswagen -Tiguan & Subaru or the Forester for June? These are the top 3 vehicles that I am interested in purchasing. My first choice is the VW Tiguan Comfortline, but the MSRP with tax and interest over 5 years @ 3.9% is $758.39/month, OUCH! 6 years is somewhat better @ $682.20/month, but the total amount with interest is almost $4000 more @ 5.9%! Still too expensive! The Subaru Forester Touring is slightly cheaper, 5 years @ 4.9% $640.13, but still too much for my liking. The Nissan Rogue (I'd rather have a Murano mind you but that little gem is definitely out of my price range!) is the best bang for the buck, 5 years @1.9%-$600.08, 6 years @ 2.9%-$519.94. As previously mentioned, the VW Tiguan is my favourite but also the most $$$, go figure eh? Any thoughts/inside info about hidden dealer kick-backs/rebates for these 3 models (check that 4 if you include the Murano) would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks, JBMack

For the Rogue, according to CCC, nothing changed from previous month.

For the Tiguan, I *hope* nothing changed since I just got it. However, if you looked at the VW website, the 0% program actually went thru Jun 30 (since april). I guess there aren't any changes as well.

thank you very much!
When I'm ready to buy I will buy APA or CCC membership for sure.
At this point I need to know how much money I will need on my LoC :)

If I read this report correctly, there's 4000(3500+500) factory rebate . Cash only?

I think i read somewhere that the Non-stackable 3500 cannot be combined with any other offer.

But i would love to stand corrected, im interested in the Rogue aswell.

Yes, it can not be combined with any other offer. $3500 is straight for cash deal.
The $500 rebate is for any Rogue that are either leased/financed.

the forester's incentives are actually slightly worse than last month.

you now only get $500 with the financing option on a 2009, whereas last month, you could also get it on a purchase option.

I'm waiting until they really try to sell the 2009s, as the 2010 has been on sale for a month now...

I'm trying to figure out what kind of price I should aim for on a Forester. There's no competition here, I may have to travel a few hours to get a deal, but would want to firm up a negotiation before driving that far. Any insight, anyone?

I'm planning to buy one this coming week. Dealer's giving me a really good deal on a Touring model automatic: $500 over cost. If you're ready to buy, and you wanna show up at the same time, maybe we can get a few additional dealer freebies...

Well since I last posted, the salesrep @ VW dropped his price $1528!!! (4 1/2%) without me even putting in an offer!!!! And if I supply my own financing, there is a cash discount of another $2000! I'm going over there now to try and strike up a deal. Wish me luck!!!!!:)

Touring is 26995, markup was $500, delivery was $1495, $0 administration fee.

it depends on location, though...you may not be able to get the same deal if you're not in the Toronto area.

The above being said, though, I went to get the car today, and just to be thorough, I decided to test drive some if its competitors: Venza, Tiguan, and I consider the Mercedes B200 a competitor, even though it's not 4WD, the seating position, pricing and capacity are what do it for me.

With all the positive reviews of the Forester, I thought it would be a clear choice. BOY, WAS I WRONG

Ranking, in my opinion, after driving all 4 cars:
1. Tiguan, tied with B200 for first (still haven't decided which to get, but leaning towards Tiguan due to better equipment for $$)
3. Venza
4. Forester (far below the venza and the others)...

The Forester was just so unrefined, it was actually almost gross to drive it after driving the first two, and even the Venza outdid it (although the venza is yucky in itself due to its plastic-enveloping interior). The Venza AWD/sunroof also has a waiting list until mid-september.

good lukc with whatever decision you make, but I do suggest you drive at least some of the above!

OK, here's the breakdown on what I got:
33975.00 MSRP - Volkswagen Tiguan Comfortline
-1678.88 Dealer discount (4.94%)
-2000.00 VW Cashback
+1575.00 Freight and PDI
+ 299.00 Global i Vehicle Recovery/Nitro Safe/Road Hazard
+ 250.00 Admin Fee
+ 100.00 A/C Tax
+ 75.00 Fuel Tax
+ 5.00 OMVIC Fee
-1500.00 Trade Allowance (1999 Sunfire)
+1555.01 GST
+2488.01 PST
35143.14 Total

We chose white gold metallic with the black energy cloth interior.
So, in a nutshell, with the 4.94% discount, the $2000 VW cash & getting $1500 for my wife's 1999 Sunfire with a 2.1 in it and 146000 K on it, we saved $6077.00 (including tax) off of the original MSRP!!!!!! We pick it up on Saturday! I can't wait!!!!:D

+ 130.00 Admin Fee
+ 100.00 A/C Tax
+ 75.00 Fuel Tax
+ 5.00 OMVIC Fee
+ 600.00 dealer markup
- 2000.00 cash rebate (alternative is 0% financing for 36 months, valid 'till june 30)

total before taxes $31949.00
GST 1597.45
PST 2555.92

Now that deal is slightly better than mine (without my '99 Sunfire trade factored in) and I have a few additional fees included/incurred, but I was just wondering where you got the wholesale price of $31489? After doing my research on this particular model, I was lead to believe the wholesale cost was $31759? Did "Ryan" reveal this info to you or did you obtain that info from another source? And if so where?

The wholesale price is from APA (www.apa.ca)

you pay $70, and you get, among other things, 5 car quotes. have a look at their website-some of the stuff you get is pretty useful.

either way, $31759 and $31459 are close...so no biggie.

I have a 2008 GTI that is comparable to the Tiguan in some ways, and a 2009Forester. The GTI drives much better and I am guessing Tiguan would too. But I enjoy the Forester for what it is. Superior space, cheap, best AWD system in the segment, best visibility, most options on base model etc. But yeah it feels very cheap inside compared to the German rivals.
