Hah,

Hey guys. Thanks for all of the help I've gotten from the forum members as well as the research that's already been done. Only reason I'm going is because a conviction on this charge will raise my insurance a lot.

It is worth the 4.5hour (speed limit) trip to Kemptville just outside of Ottawa to fight off a ticket.

I think I have a very strong case for my STAY application which I served them, as well as the attorney generals and I think I have a strong argument. Failing this, I can still request an adjournment as I will not have enough evidence to review to prepare a defense, especially since my disclosure requests were dated well in advanced as to what specifics I needed.

I also have an affidavit signed in saying that the model of Laser used to measure my speed by admission of the company that is said by the officer to have manufactured this, does not exist nor has it ever exisited.

Do I have a strong case? What are the chances I'll get off?

Go for it...make it a mini trip to see Ottawa again so it won't be a total write-off.

I don't know about Ottawa, but traffic court in GTA is a joke and everybody (almost) gets reduced conviction. If you have a case, you only goal should be 'drop all charges' or 'not guilty'.
