These numbers alone do not mean anything. I'd much rather see Net Profits comparisons.

Lets just hope no car companies need to do any massive recalls that they can ill afford at this time.

No, I think that GM is selling cars with huge discounts and in fact they are not making any money on them.

I'm pretty sure this has something to do with $5-12K off MRSP on domestics. You can barely haggle with Honda, Toyota is hurting a bit more, but not enough to give away their cars like the domestics are doing.

Well, I may not like the quality of Ford/GM cars but they are doing an excellent job in attracting buyers with all the incentives and ads, which is not bad by the way.

You tried to haggle with Honda? it is always 500 above invoice, easy as it gets...so has been my family experience with them. Except for my bro who got 3k below invoice (USA dealerships rock!) :D 08ex-l my other relative got 250 above invoice, and lexus rx350 got at invoice(08 pebble beach edition), i got an pricing on TL last yr 500 above invoice right away., depends a lot on the sales person more than anything!
