Does anyone know which alarm gives best bang for buck to lower car insurance?

I was tempted to choose one to see if it would lower my quote, but there are ~8-10 choices for kanetix.ca and each time I choose one and want to change it, I have to change my whole application again for a new quote just to see how changing 1 option would affect my quote.

Thanks

Above the quotes you should be able to hover on the "Vehicle >" text which should bring up a Modify button where you can change the alarm type for that quote.

Alternately the Insurance thread may be helpful:

Call your broker - you should get a small discount off the comp portion of the premium.

not all brokers/insurance companies offer discounts for alarms/anti theft devices.

I got GPS tracking on my BMW and the insurance company ( WAWANESA ) doesn't give **** for it.

The comp portion of your premium isn't that much anyways, right?
But I guess this is RFD and every little bit counts :-P

That's because Wawa is high-risk. I bet you Wawa was the lowest quote around for your beamer....

What does it mean for a insurance company to be high risk?

Just because he drives a BWM does not mean he should be with Facility.

What does it mean for a insurance company to be high risk? The company is not high risk, but they will write high risk drivers through The Facility Association who contracts with a few member automobile insurance companies to act as "Servicing Carriers". Servicing Carriers issue and endorse policies, receive premiums and adjust claims on behalf of the Facility Association. They are reimbursed from the Residual Market pool for losses paid, an allowance for adjusting claims and a fee for policy handling. All policies written through the Facility Association by the Servicing Carriers are subject to the rules, rates and classification of the Facility Association. All Rules and Rates require regulatory approval for all jurisdictions the Residual Market serves.

There are also other high risk writers besides the facility association..for example, kingsway, Kplus, coachman, perth ....all of which I have in my office.

Right and is usually only a 5% discount off the comp portion anyhow.
