This is one deal I WAIT FOR here on RFD, every single year.
I was hoping we'd get early notice of it, since I can never seem to find where they release that they're doing this promo (where do they?!?!?!?)

Regardless, I got some cheap tickets to fill my summer ...

Thank you VERY MUCH!

anyone know how bad the lawn is? is it even worth it?

I like it on the lawn. While you can't make out the singer(s), you get to stretch out and you can see them on the screens anyway. Lots of people mill about in the area between the lawn and the seats anyway so your view is the same as if you were sitting in the farthest seats.

I would have been all over this if they had included Great Big Sea's concert on Aug. 22. Oh well.

anyone know how bad the lawn is? is it even worth it?

You have to realize the lawn is general admission and essentially, a lawn. It isn't perfect.
Often people "camp out" their spots, as soon as the gates open so if you think you'll be walking in, 15 minutes prior to the concert starts to get a "Good Spot", think again ...

I've been on the lawn with lots of bugs, rain, beating sun ... all the elements!
And after you settle yourself in and the concert starts, depending on the concert, everyone gets up and starts dancing (or standing) despite having the setup to sit ...

As bad as all of that sounds, you're paying $20 for a live concert, which you otherwise had not seen. IMO, its worth it. I'll live with it not being "perfect."

Yeah, my Rock the Bell tix were assigned seating also.

So its like section 400s or lawns depending on the event.

It's crazy that there's a few extra concerts that aren't originally listed that are accepting the promo ...
The Pizza Pizza promo has its own page for these specific concerts and even the ones mentioned (Ex. Offspring) are not on that list either ...

And I kept missing Rock the Bells because of the way it was listed on the venue's calendar ... crazy long name.

I didn't want to pay full price but I'll definitely check out this concert for $20. Thanks for letting us know.

Side Note: I don't know why they haven't added the Ice Cream Festival ... promoters probably didn't allow it but they're crazy ... last year didn't sell out and it was an even STRONGER line-up then this year ... that's too bad.

LOS ANGELES, CA June 1, 2009 - Today, Live Nation announced that it's dropping service fees on
more than five million lawn tickets and hundreds of concerts, helping add value and save money for fans
throughout North America. The 24 hour event makes June 3rd the biggest one day sale in concert

Throughout the rest of the summer, Live Nation becomes Free-Nation, as it offers a variety of "No Service
Fee Wednesdays" specials at www.LiveNation.com, making Wednesday the biggest day of the week for
savings on concert tickets for hundreds of shows and millions of fans.

Honestly though, I wouldn't wait for that promo. We're already seeing tickets being grabbed up and the promo has only been on for 1 day.
To each their own

Thanks OP.

Tried Def Leppard about 10 times before I got tickets so for others who are trying to get these tickets - keep trying! Just an FYI - with Service charges (and I opted for free pick-up at ticketmaster outlet) it was still $42.07!!

I'm finding on average, the tickets cost about $20-25 per ticket. Not $11.11.
That's the beauty of TicketMaster's selling layout. They give you one price and charge you another.

Ticketmaster popped up with a small survey after purchasing the tickets the other day ... oh I was thrilled to let them know I think their ticketing system sucks since they're happy to run a "$11.11" promotion with Pizza Pizza and in the end of it, I end up paying an additional $10+ ...

That's great!

(Point of this post? Make sure you guys do the same if you get a chance. TicketMaster needs to show the fees upfront, WITH the ticket purchase if they're going to charge these outrages fees, at all. We're paying different fees for concerts that are at the SAME VENUE! - EXPLAIN THAT ONE TO ME PLEASE!)

Well, their rules do state:
No Outside alcohol; No Glass containers, cans, lawn chairs, weapons, unsealed plastic bottles, coolers, picnic baskets
No outside food or drink
No Cameras of any sort
No Recording equipment of any sort
No smoking within any seating or standing area of the Amphitheatre
No re-entry
No Strollers

I do agree that a warning would have been nice as it is an open-air environment.

Whatever. It never used to be like that. The fact that they enforce it, and enforce it so vigorously in an open air area, is silly. God forbid people should have fun at a rock concert.

It's not silly that they enforce it, I think it's a great thing that they do. Although it is an open area, it is a business there, so technically if you are smoking there it's the same thing as going and smoking in a mall or a restaurant.

If people can't have fun at a concert without smoking, that's really, really sad.

Security is a joke, they get paid next to minimum wage to power trip. I used to do it to see shows free as my second PT job in Uni, and I only enforced the bolded text above, mostly for safety. The no re-entry was to prevent people taking multiple stubs and/or making stamp reproductions to let other people in. Inside, I'd stop you if you were sneaking to a better seat but if you were smoking, toking, swigging, or munching on your own food, I'd look away, lol. Unfortunately, some of my meathead cohorts weren't that liberal - mind you, the smoking should be a warning, not ejection. Is the no smoking anywhere inside a by-law now? Note the initial search at the entrance can be pretty thorough and that's where there is zero tolerance, there's usually a security supervisor there. Crotch your camera, turn off the flash (obviously), and conceal well when you use it.

I bet you're a lot of fun at parties.

I am fun and I have lots of fun.

It's sad that you can't have fun unless you are sucking on your cancer sticks.

Smoking at a party is one thing. It's someone's private property; smoking at a public event definitely should not be allowed. Why should children or any non-smoker have to be stuck in the stench of cigarettes when they are there to have fun, not increase their chance at lung cancer.

If you hate their rules, stay home and watch a concert on dvd and smoke all you want.

From anybody who has been to the Amphitheatre, how is section 401 for $25 total? Just curious for a show not included here. I was in the mid 400's last year for Kanye and he was like 100 yards away, but that was $100... otherwise I usually go floor.

And for the record, that non-smoking policy at an outdoor event is crazy but I suppose it's in their rules. I've seen smoking plenty of times at the ACC which is closed.

I am fun and I have lots of fun.

As long as everyone obeys the rules.

It's sad that you can't have fun unless you are sucking on your cancer sticks.

I don't smoke. I just think that events that are supposed to be fun are ruined by over-regulation in Toronto. It's sad that smokers can't light up in an open air section during a rock concert without being kicked out.

It's just another example of the over-regulation of Toronto. I love this city, lived here my whole life, but you'd never see this kind of nonsense in a city like Montreal.

And never mind the smoking, the Amphitheatre will remove you from the premises for legally drinking a beer with your mom:

Why is this such a big deal? They have a rule and enforce it, get over it. Same thing in Buffalo at Ralph Wilson, open air but no smoking except in designated areas (ie. not the seating area, outside of the concourse). If there are no smoking signs, don't smoke and you wont get kicked out!

I used to work at the Amphitheatre and the reasoning our supervisor gave us for the no smoking rule is that the venue is partially roofed, which technically designates it as an enclosed private building or something, even the lawn area...so if you want to have a smoke, you have to do it in the concourse area (where it's not "enclosed")...

Wow, amazing deal. I just got Judas Priest and Dream Theater tickets. Can't wait.
Thanks OP.

By the way, is the grass section not available this year? Weird that there's not an option to choose grass.

2 tickets for beyonce with the code 9671111.

Thanks!!

Where are the seats at? I keep trying since this deal was posted, but it was all sold out with that code.

As for smoking at the molson amp. I was at the nin/ja show as well and people were smoking, not in the seats/lawns, but in the area where you come down from the bathrooms/foods/etc when you are entering the different sections, don't know if that makes sense. It was like a smoking section per say, not sure if that is allowed.

As for getting kicked out for smoking on the lawns that sucks, people are always smoking in the pit at these types of events and nothing happens.

They were lawns and the code was only good for like two days before they sold out. Lawns were still available at full price last time I checked, so I guess they sold out of specially priced tickets.

I was at the Offspring show today and apparently if you're at one of the shows there, you can buy selected (lawn) tickets for only $20 with service charge included! They are: Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Katy Perry, Great Big Sea, Blue Rodeo, The Killers and two more, I forgot which. Apparently it's because they were having trouble selling out those shows, lol. I grabbed myself tickets for the Killers, which is no longer available for the Pizza Pizza deal.
