I am going to be picking up my brand new 09 g37x awd this week and I wanted to know what type of gas should I pump and where
I belive that it takes premium but not sure, which one is better to pump for shell they offer 91 and 94 is there a real difference
also is there other companies like petro canada or esso that I could pump cause i know they have sears point rewards and other stuff like that
I am basically looking for the best gas company to pump at that offers the best rewards(Points, Air Miles, etc...) and the best gas for my car.
all suggestions and comments are welcome thanks

Your car must have a minimum of 91 octane, use shell for that. Nothing wrong with using Sunoco 94 either.

On a side note,
If you really going to 'baby' this beauty, I suggest you switch to Group IV synthetic oil next time. Like Motul .. it's going to cost you ... around $13 per litre. (just the oil)

was reading that premium increases your range on how far you can drive on a full tank a difference of about 80 km so it might b worth it to do premium

My VQ likes Shells V-Power, I like the AirMiles/Cash Back. LOL

or Castrol German Synthec 0W-30. It's will cost you only $7 after PM/Coupon at Part Source, so keep an eye on a Hot Deal like the one that just ended. There's also Bosch #3323 on BST going for $9 each here. This is what I use on my on '08 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5SE
Congrats on the G37x!

they recommend premium for a reason. I say the manufacturer knows more about it than you do so you should stick with it.
Besides why spend that much on a car only to cheap out what makes it run.

Any 91 octane from a reputable company is OK. Hell I even put Costco gas in my IS and haven't had any issues.

Your cares computer will downgrade your engines performance based on the fuel you are using.

The best advice is in your owners manual. Read it cover to cover and understand it. Don't go against it, for fuel or oil or other life fluids (at least for the immediate future and warrant period). Use and do what the manual recommends and suggests. Yes, it may seem like overkill to some but, it is risk adverse but those fluids are what the vehicle is engineered for and tested with. Why go and put something in based on opinion?

I was getting 18L/100km initially, now it's settled at around 13.8 - mixed driving.

If that is the fuel economy you get on the G37's, I guess I won't be buying this gas sucking pig :)

Gotta pay to play. With mixed driving most people average around 13-15l/100kms with a VQ.

37s are supposed to be a bit better on gas than the 35s due to the newer 7 speed tranny.

I don't need to syphon gas. You're the penny pincher who suggested the OP put regular in his car.

It was expected, I don't exactly drive in a way to save gas. Not what you get a car like this for.

You wanna accelerate 1800kg of steel to 100km/h under 6 seconds, you gotta break some carbon bonds.

I'm a member on myg37 & I read someone put reg & the car ran bad, it didn't feel the same. There was a study a few yrs ago saying Sunoco had the best gas (but yrs ago, before Shell V Power was out, so don't know about now). The study was cited by CarHelpCanada, which is a consumer based org so I trust it.

I'm averaging about 13L/100Km- but mine only has 3500Km on it and I hammer the throttle every chance I get. It's nice to not be too concerned about gas prices :cheesygri
