I believe it would be useful for us to know the maintenence cost of different types of vehicles, I will start and hopefully more people will join the thread with different types of vehicle.

Please also mention if you have anything extra being done at a particular service interval (e.g. brake pad / timing belt...etc).

2007 Lexus ES350 (at dealership):
1,600km service Free
8,000km service Free
16,000 km service $261

uh.... great idea, but this is probably something you should share and save for your car club forums. I.e. the lexus ES forum (if it exists) will already have a database for this in most cases.

I know my volvo club has everything I need, and that made it easier for me to do everything from simple oil change, to transmission flush, to suspension work.

No, it's still a small world though. :) I can help you with a detailing question if you'd like? :D

Why'd you have to bring the car in at 1,600 kms and what made you pay at 16k kms?

Just curious...

Me too.I suspect the oil change interval is 8000 kms but $261 for it is a bit out of touch.
Toyota and Nissan (and their brethren Lexus and Infinity and Scion etc) do seem to be a bit intensive on the scheduled maintenance compared to other brands.

I just looked it up on the Lexus site (yes, I was that curious...) and the 1600 kms visit is an inspection. Every 8,000 kms is lubrication and every 16,000 kms is "regular maintenance service". Lexus recommends, among other things, that you replace the cabin filter every 16k kms. I didn't see a reference to a timing belt change - I hadn't realized that Lexus had gone to a chain in the 350 powerplant. Good call!
