It's been a long time since I touched Windows. I switched when Apple released the Mac Mini.
As much as I want a Mac Book, a Netbook makes more since since I only plan to use it for the Internet, iTunes and Space Cadet 3D Pinball. :cheesygri
Anyways, I picked up Toshiba's new NB200-006 Netbook today and I can't believe it takes this long to set up Windows. I turned it on at 20:23 and it's now 21:04. LOL  WTF!?!? Is this normal?
I'm still waiting...

My goodness, why can't I get the Wireless to work!
When my family/friend's are over and want access, I just give them my password. My Sony PlayStation 3 picked it up, I simply hit "Scan."
This netbook is stressing me out. It's not picking it up.
Looking for some help here. Thanks. I really want to like this because I don't want a Note/Mac Book.

Why a Toshiba netbook btw?
Shouldn't take that long to boot up, guess theres alot of crapware that they pre-installed.
As for WiFi, hard to say there, does it see the router at all?

honestly, it's not that difficult to set up a wireless connection and you'll probably benefit from a couple quick google searches of your problem.
It's tough to help you without knowing what type of windows, router, etc. Are you sure the wireless is turned on and everything? Is it just not recognizing your network?
if your PS3 can see it then there is no way Windows should be having problems.

I'm using AirPort Extreme 802.11n. It's not picking up any Wireless Connection.
I just switched my iMac to BootCamp/XP Pro SP3 which had no problems connecting. I tried copying the settings but this Network is a PITA.
When I'm using Windows, I usually just go to START > Connect To. Then, it automatically scans it and I hit Connect and enter the Password.
Yes, Wireless is ON.

What does the toshiba use for wireless connection management? Could it be that you're not opening the right app? Windows can manage your wireless connections but sometimes there is software provided to manage the connections that needs to be ran. Have you gone through the steps in the manual on how to connect to a wireless access point?
The way I see it is if your mac, ps3, and friends can all connect and the toshiba can't then there is probably either a hardware problem or a user issue, I don't think it's windows.
EDIT: This link has some good trouble shooting steps for your router http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/2008.html

Windows does not come pre-installed on these netbooks. It is in compressed recovery partition. When you first boot, it will ask you the language you prefer, than decompress the image from the recovery partition.

Yes, I've gone through the steps. I'm no expert so I'm sure it's me, I just don't get why Toshiba has to make you go through steps? My girls VAIO VGNFW378DH works. I'm not attacking Windows.
I'm done with this, I didn't help that I was getting Lag/Video Lip Sync Playback issues when I'm watching Movies/TV Shows on iTunes.
Thanks for your help.

It's the downside of hardware that supports all kinds of software. Sometimes you end up getting stuck by some unforeseen issue. In this case i would guess that something is wrong with the wireless hardware or driver. Try playing around with the wireless button, try uninstalling the drivers...if that doesn't work then take it back because there may be a hardware issue. Setting up windows on my eee pc netbook was equally as frustrating but now totally worth the effort.
Good luck on getting it working or finding a suitable replacement.
