09 civic question reqarding seat belt

Hi Forum,

Does anybody know how to disable the "seat belt is not on" beep for an 09 Civic ??

Your description of the problem in your first post deserved that answer and I am surprised you did not get more like it. Read your post...is it at all descriptive?
Why is the seat belt tone coming on? Do you have something on the seat? When you clipped the seat belt in, did it stop? Is the warning tone on all the time? It is weight activated. That is the law.
You see, if you fully describe your issue and what you may have done to alleviate the issue, perhaps we can be of further assistance otherwise, don't be surprised if you get flamed.

Are you talking about if you have something on the seat (not a person) and it goes off?

Or are you talking about if it goes off all the time, regardless of if someone/something is on the seat?

If it's the first, the dealership can dos something about that? That would be awesome since I would love to get rid of that beeping noise when I put stuff on the seat.

It goes off if anything of significant weight is on the passenger seat (person or item).

It continues to chime even if the seat belt is attached to the holster.

I'm guessing this is because the car believes this is a "person" who does not weigh enough (child, baby) and therefore should not be sitting in the front passenger seat. I think this is different than the seatbelt beep as it should stop afterawhile.

Even if there was a passenger in your car that wasn't wearing his/her seat belt I think its your prerogative to either allow or disallow that. - you know the consequences its in the drivers handbook.

If i get a car that beeped whenever a seat belt wasn't fastened i would definitely look into getting that feature disabled.

A car should only beep if you leave your keys in the car or when you leave the lights on.

Do you know how the dealership fixed it, or what was wrong?
