2007 crashed title crv LX
front driver end dammage. Its repaired drives decent i suppose.
American car that will have its gauges replaced to reflect CND mesurements.
Will this change the odometer to show in KM instead of Miles?
My concerns are that its crashed, would it be reliable?
Rims are ugly as ****, but i guess thats what LX rims look like.
Tires look worn, and not what would be on a stock honda.
It has low miles about 3000.
I know im nit picking with the problems but what are your thoughts about a crashed car?
im not a car guy i dont know the questions i should be asking, or what i should be looking for. Im sure the parts are aftermarket, i should really ask them about the brand/quality.
The garage belongs to my friend and hes offering it for around 15k + tax.
What do you think?

Im going to go test drive an 09 CRV and see how the drive differs.
But for the 07 one i find it loud when accelerating, kinda like my 98 CRV EX.
Its boring to drive, i prefer the 09 rogue over this - but i think its ugly, and around 13k more.
Its really the attractive price that draws us to this car.

Crashed cars are hit or miss, you can get a great deal on one that will drive just like it was never crashed or you can get one that will develop symptoms soon. Bit of a gamble.

Why not just import a non crashed CRV instead?
Think about it this way. If it was such a great deal down there, why would they need to sell it to someone from Canada?

If your parents know enough about cars to fix it themselves or have a very trustworthy mechanic who is experienced with fixing accident cars, then it can save a them a lot of money. (still some risk involved)
otherwise, it will be a big risk.

No run away from it as far as possible... Let some other idiot buy it.... there are plenty of deals out there on nice used cars or even new ones that aren't wrecked... take advantage of it. The cost to risk ratio is just too high when buying a wrecked car.

This happened to me during winter.
I was coming home, and right in front of my house, saw a CRV that had its two front wheels literally 'broken' out, left tire facing left, right tire facing right, with the front of the car basically resting on the tires. Shortly later, I saw tow truck and the owner.
He had bought it with a 'salvage' title in 2006 I believe (it was a 02 model) as it was cheaper. Basically, he turned in right front the main straight and right after, he said he lost control as the wheels literally came lose. It took him a while to stop too as you could see the tire skid marks (there was light/leftover snow) The tow truck driver said it was likely the control arms or steering linkage.
It looked ugly.
The owner said he never really had any problems with it, and was happy it didn't on the highway.
After seeing that, I myself would stay away.
