Ok, my computer died several days ago and I decided to build a new comptuter.

The only thing I kept was the case.

I have an Antec PSW and I just bought the following:
ASUS M4A78 Motherboard
Athlon 7850 X2 CPU
WD 1000G Black HD

I've installed all the component and I've followed all the instructions.
I've installed drives, memory, video cards before so I am comfortable with computers.
Anyways, when I connected everything up,
nothing boots.. no beeps, no screen. I don't even see the bios menu.
The fan is running and the LED on the motherboard is on.

Funny things is that this is the problem I had with the old computer. It suddenly wouldn't boot anymore (no bios, but HDs are fine).
Could it be some the case? The connectors?
Am I forgetting something simple?
I'm lost.. help!:(

funny how u changed parts EXCEPT the PS, its obvious to me that your PS is dead(even the LED is on).

I have to agree as much as that is a nice little upgrade I think you should have gotten a new power supply also.

If it's an ANtec Smartpower, get rid of it before it gets rid of your computer.

I have a brand new Antec Earthwatts 430 that I tried on the old computer first. That didn't solve the problem with the old computer and then I bought the new components.

So, the power supply is brand new.
Everything is brand new with the exception of the case.
I'm going to reset the ram and see if that does anything ...

Did you plug in the 4-pin cpu power thing?

Update:

Ok... I'm feeling kinda stupid ;) but the problem was the I installed the heatsink and fan the wrong way. I rotated it 180degrees and it booted right after that. Perhaps it wasn't seated correctly the first time but I was still able to lock it in place.

Oh well, thanks for all the tips...
