Looks like unless it's on Microsoft's list of antivirus companies, Vista no longer recognizes your antivirus software and now gives you a warning that you have none protecting your computer... must have been picked up in their last update.
Just checked my version of AVIRA, it is fully operational; so I turned off the notification and picked the option that I will monitor my own antivirus software.
Anyone else getting this? Or am I missing something?

With Vista SP2 I get "Avira is not compatible with Vista" and I have the options of closing the program, or continue to use it, which I do and it works fine. I'm sure Avira will update it soon.

You can always disable any notifications from the security center. Easy solution.

Avira Antivir version 8 isn't compatible with Vista SP2. You need to upgrade to version 9.

I thought that might be the issue when it gave me a popup a few weeks ago to update to the latest version which I ignored because I have it tweaked, ironically, so it won't display ad popups, lol.
I see I was hesistant for no reason as by googling, this works for version 9:

Thanks ROF, Vista 64bit Security Centre now recognizes I have antivirus ON.
