Dell laptops question

Can someone rank from best to worse for dell model laptops? Example, inspiron, studio, xps, and etc.

some background information...i have a dell inspiron 1545 right now and they have offered to exchange it for a studio 1555.

You've listed them in order already but from worst to best.

XPS is considered their 'higher end' consumer brand, studio is a hybrid between higher performance and mainstream (in other words, multimedia notebooks), and Inspiron is and always has been their value line.

An exchange to the Studio 1555 from the Inspiron is most definitely a step up.

this is actually for a friend, he had alot of problems with his 1545 inspiron model. eg..internet connectivity problems, delivered with peeling edge, and had sent it back to fix some other problems aswell...been about a month now until this offer of back and fourth phone calls. :) lol.

anyways...

His budget for that initial laptop was 800 give or take, but no more than 900 after taxes[not totally sure on this but i think its correct]. should he stick with a studio 1555 or return it and buy another laptop with 800 budget? suggestions?

Stick with the Studio 1555. It's build quality is much better than the Inspirons (comparatively speaking between the two that is)
