Where is the cheapest place to flush brake and steering fluids ?
I would ask neighbors, friends and relatives for recommendations on mechanics they trust, rather than the cheapest place for a particular job.
Eventhough a good mechanic isn't going to be the cheapest all the time, in the end he'll save you money because he fixes problems before they become serious and the job is done right the first time.

2000 Acura TL.
This job is pretty simple thats why I dont think it would take a "good" mechanic to do it.

lol...changing tires is also a simple job...so it won't need a "good" mechanic to do it...

It doesnt actually, as long as they know the proper way. If I had the space and tools I would do all these work myself.

Very few mechanics do proper brake flushes, I've asked around. The mechanic I usually go to was trying to convince not to do brake flush as it was not necessary... I'm pretty sure it is, esp. in Canada's climate..
When I asked about how they do radiator flushes, I was dumbfounded.. Some put tap water (my area water has salt + a lot of minerals)!!
Power steering is not too easy to change yourself and you may damage your power steering system.. You need two people, jack stands on both sides, and something to hold at least 500ml of fluid, otherwise you won't be able to pour as fast... If you are careful, it's a very satisfying job though :)

I was told by the dealership that both the P/S and brake fluids were dirty, so I got 2 Q:
At what mileage/year would u change both the fluids?
If u don't reach the mileage mark, yet pass on the year, is it still as important to change?
Car Info:
02 Si coupe just hit 80k, bought it Nov 01, so its little past 7 1/2 years old.
I'm gonna likely do both anyways on my next service just to be on the safe side, but just wanted to know other members opinions on this.
If the brake fluid hasn't been changed (every 2 or 3 years) before, it sure is a good time to do it now
PS fluid is less critical, some car makers say nothing about changing it, but you can still change it if you want, for preventative maintenance.

I had these services done on my wife's car a while ago at active green and ross in Brampton, i just dug up the bill it was $79.99 for the brake flush and $89.99 for the power steering flush. I watched them do the p/s flush and it involved a machine.
