How do you do Excel? Do you just keep track of expendatures or also balances of items?

I found I had to "double enter" everything when I tried to use Excel. I couldn't figure out how to get it to report current balance of wallet or CC without doing it that way.

Do people just keep track of expenses or keep track of current running balance for all accounts when you do it with Excel?

There are many paid software you can use like mentioned about or even simple excel sheets......google documents has a couple you might be able to use, I have a financial planning series (http://financialhighway.com/category/financial-planning-basics-guide/)you might find helpful
