hey guys, im unsure on how to appeal my mark as my prof calculated my mark wrong. He gave me like a 67 when i really deserved a 77 (After calculating my marks by myself.)

The course was Marketing 100 in case anyone was wondering. The deadline to appeal marks is quickly approaching, and i have no idea how to do it. I've emailed my Prof and TA's and they have not responded, so i need to quickly take action.

Thanks.

Go to the registrar and explain your situation. There might be info on their site.

i dont know.. i found it strange how if i got a 67 (Says the prof), i would have needed like 20% on the final cause i was doing well in that course. LOL this would suck if it didnt work out in the end... stupid rye high..

are you sure the course coordinator did not bell-curved the marks?

I was thinking that was possible, but the prof/ta havent replied to any of my emails, so like the OP, I have no clue what I should do.

See if you can track down your prof and have a face to face with them, rather than email. Do that before you do anything else. If you can't find them (talk to dept admin to see if they are around or on vacation), then your school should have an appeals process. I would recommend trying to figure it out with the prof first, as the appeal is hassle work for the prof and they are (a) likely to win and (b) will remember you for next time.

umm prof Chris Gibbs... but ive heard the same story for the other marketing prof's but they admitted that they screwed up somewhere along the line, and fixed the final marks.

I had prof. Saqib, my marks havent changed, but I needed a 73% on the final to get an "A" in the course, and I am pretty sure I did well and got greater than 73%.

Assuming you have all of your other marks for the course, ask to see your final exam. Then you can add it up and you'll know for sure and can prove your case.

I had a bad experience this past year with an intro to marketing course at uft, taught by a Ryerson prof, Dewan.

I got 79%! But the course avg was a B, which is very unusual for a 2nd yr course at uft. I an certain I earned an A, but the prof brought everybodies mark down, and still got a B avg!!!

I want to appeal it, but I doubt it will be changed.

OP, did you appeal? What happen? Were you right?

It doesn't hurt to appeal the mark -- there's a process if I recall correctly. Just go to the department and ask.

I once got a failing grade when I was going into the exam with 60% of the full grade (meaning no way I could've possibly failed the course). I appealed and the prof said it's cuz the person entering the data screwed up -- I got an A+.

If you feel your grade should've been 10% higher it could've been a typo so appeal it.

I know for a fact im right, the process is annoying.. you have to fill our a form, and write a letter stating why you think your right.. but its for 10%, im going to have to do it..

i was thinking of appealing too but my Prof was nice enough to reply to my emails and spoke to him in person about it. Theres also an appealing fee you got to pay which is GAYY.

Yes.

Not only that...he "asked" some guys who shave with diff blames to come to the front of the class, and some girls and guys touched their faces to see which one is smoother.
