The college is known for having a lot of money, and therefore there are a lot more scholarship opportunities there versus anywhere else. The college itself is pretty nice, with some nice hangout spots and a really good-looking college library (E.J. Pratt).

Also, I believe Victoria college offers a number of courses that Vic students get first priorty too. I BELIEVE Danesi teaches/taught a few of them, don't quote me on it though... and if you're not familiar with Danesi, he's a senior semiotics professor at the university who does not care about maintaining the "University of Toronto average", so if you ever see him as a prof, take the course! On a side note, I know this year he taught the first year seminar "Anthropology of Brands", so you should try checking that out if you can.

Also Colleges will have no effect on your program. And unless you're living on residence, I doubt you'll spend much time there other than during frosh week.

Victoria College has in recent years passed Trinity as the richest college at U of T. It has a very good and relatively new curriculum called Vic One, which is based on small group learning.

You are right that Victoria is not really known for physical math and science. That's because most of the in-house programs offered by the colleges are in the arts and humanities. But actually you can do any major at any U of T college so it really doesn't matter. Victoria is definitely one of the most prestigious U of T colleges (I'd say maybe third), if you care about stuff like prestige.

Who's first and who's second? I can guess Trinity may be one of them, but which other college is more "prestigious" than Vic?

Well, depending on who you ask it can be either "prestige" or snob-factor. I was just thinking maybe third out of ALL U of T colleges, because Massey > Trin > Vic. So actually it's either second or third depending on whether you count Massey. But honestly, stuff like prestige is very subjective so don't take it too seriously.

The bottom line is Vic is a very good college no matter how you measure it.

Best scholarships by far.

Consider this: if you are at vic, a 3.5 cGPA will get you a $1000 scholarship guaranteed. At UC, a 3.5 will get you nothing, guaranteed. At UC, to get anything, you need atleast 3.8+. In first year, you'll need atleast 3.9+ to get anything. If you get a 3.91 in first year, UC will give you $250... maybe.
