View Full Version : do you love/hate soup skin?

Soup skin is a thick texture that develops on hot soup. Normally, a freshly cooked hot bowl of soup will develop this skin within minutes if the soup stay undisturbed. I'm not sure about the chemical process of this process, but the skin normally taste slightly more favourful than the soup itself.

I personally don't mind this thick texture on the soup, but I have seen people trying to destroy the soup skin by mixing the soup with their spoon.

Was he swimming in a giant bowl of hot soup and the skin developed while he was diving and he couldn't stick his head out of the soup to breath?

It was during the Great Soup Wars of 1967. Nobody who was there that day is alive to tell to tale. All I know is his body arrived home covered in soup skin with a look of pure terror on his face. I cannot speak of it any more as it pains me so.

i hate it.. always use my chopsticks to get rid of it. except when i'm drinking cream of mushroom, most of the time i'll just stir it with my spoon

For the most part I don't like it. The only exception would be sometimes on cream of chicken soup.

I don't eat "white" style soup very often but I do enjoy this skin when I have mushroom soup.
