Looking for a god cheese market in Southern Ontario, Closer to niagara region if there is one. Want some Caciocavallo for sure but enjoy a lot of different cheeses.
Thanks

There is a speciality cheese shop in NOTL. Anna Olsen also has a cheese area in her bakery in Port Dalhousie. Her husband, Michael, has a cheese shop in Jordan. There are quite a few smaller ones as well. The Pie Plate in Virgil has a selection of artisan, locally made cheeses as well...

I think Anna has more of an artisan cheese shop, as are the others in Niagara. I was looking for more traditional ethnic cheese.
I do love going into Jordan so might check that one out.

Go to Whole Foods in Oakville, which is sort of around the corner from you. They have a good selection of cheeses and its a good place to get introduced to a wide variety of stuff without completely breaking the bank.

Roman Cheese in NF has one of the largest selections in Niagara of really high quality imported cheeses (and meats). Mostly Italian varieties but a few others as well.

I am at roman cheese all the time, great place. I always get there fresh riccotta during the week. My dad still makes it from time to time.
I'll check out whole foods on Monday since it's closer. thanks again guys.

When you go make sure you grab some Cantenaar. Low fat, low sodium, but really, really tasty - real cheese, not some faux "light" crap.

I'm with dd on this one. Check out Cheese Boutique or at SLM, Alex Farm Cheeses (or whatever it's called). You have to know your butcher, fishmonger, and cheesemonger.
You'll never pay full price if you get to know your food people.

yep
also, if you're in a pinch looking for the closest possible place, Fortino's supermarket by far has the best cheese selections of any supermarket
