I need suggestions and help... i am planning a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband and I would like to have a poker night birthday party theme. Does anyone know of a restaurant or pub with good food that will accommodate that..i tried calling couple of places but i`m really not sure of how the food taste like.so i would like recommendations or suggestions please and thank you...i am planning this party for May 9 for at least 30-40people. Thank you so much!!!

I don't think many places will even allow the whole poker theme... seems like a pretty big liability if they get caught (assuming you are playing with real money).
Best bet would be to book a condo party room and get catering. It's private and you can get whatever food you want. Plus better lighting and less distractions make for a better poker environment. And the best part, it's pretty much the cheapest option.

Poker is gambling. You need a license for that. And I doubt any public establishments will accommodate, best bet is what the above posted said, make it a private function in a condo party room and you're good to go. Even if its a banquet hall, you're not allowed to have gambling and will need a license.

For that many people - rent a hall, catered with chicken wings and don't forget the dancing girls.

What if your not "gambling" but rather playing for fun with poker chips?
Ive seen that done before, just aslong as there's no money to be seen/played with.
