I am looking at rennovating my kitchen, so far I a have been to Ikea, home depot, lowes and few local kitchen contractors.
Ikea cabinet won't fit in my kitchen. Lowes have both kraftmaid and kitchen craft , it seems that Kraftmaid is better quality, is there any other cabinet manufactuer with similar price range as kraftmaid? someone can recommend. Does anyone use Lowe's for kitchen renovations? My budget for the cabinet for a 10x14 is about 10k including installation so I am not looking at high end kitchen.
I appretiate your input.
Thanks,

Weskey

We did our kitchen with Cameo and are pleased with what we got. They have in-house designers as well to do the technical drawings and help you pick the cabinets, counter, backsplash, etc.

A word of caution/common sense; one should always talk to potential designers in some detail, to make sure your respective tastes are similar (i.e. no sense hiring a designer who likes contemporary, while your tastes are more country or traditional)....

Checked thier web site looks good, did you go with traditional or contemporary?, what is thier pricing. Is the cabinet make in the US.

Thanks,

Can I ask a strange question... What prevents Ikea fitting in your kitchen? Lots of corners/odd shape?

We went with more contemporary look. Their pricing is around your budgeted amount, I think. Ultimately, it depends on the materials you pick, of course. Note that costs of countertop and backsplash are on top of the cabinet pricing. I think they have their own factory in town. Defintely does not hurt to at least check out the showroom and talk to someone there. If nothing else, get some ideas on design, etc., even if you end up purchasing elsewhere.

Ikea does not have the size of pantry I have, mine is 30*86 it is inside a drywall, I guess there is pluming on the top and on the side, I have no plan to tear down the drywall and change the layout.

ITs up to you, but tearing down and replacing drywall is extremely cheap compared to the cost of cabinets.
