Is anyone currently on oil or propane forced air systems considering making this move? I'm surprised by the efficiency and benefits of the technology as a whole but unsure about the installers I have talked to.

What kind of quotes have you received? If you decided against it, what's stopping you? Those who bought into it, what were the deciding factors. PM me if you'd like to don't want to name names.

I was all for it, until I found out that "thanks" to the gov grants, the demand is so high that the install co. get away with murder right now.. These systems sold for under $15K before all the rave, now they're over $30K:mad:

Also don't forget.. MPAC will re-asses your property once this system is installed and you get your gov. ck;) Unless you're planning on selling the property, you'll end up paying for this system for as long as you own it... a grant that keeps on giving:cry:... Right now they're having a field day collecting all this new tax $$$.

Until they pass a law to protect homeowners from increased property taxes due to renewable energy upgrades in this province, I'm sure a lot of people will shy away ( at least those who know and care will). Everyone wants to do the right thing, but to be gougded by MPAC like that is BS, IMO
BC and AB alreday have this law in place, a cap on property tax on all "green" upgrades. The geo coalition and people of this province should press for this law, but I guess everyone is too busy installing and spending their $$$ to notice yet.

Yeah! took a huge deposit and ran away. After a while we learned that his business was insolvent!
