I am looking at having my siding painted by The Siding Doctor (http://www.siding-doctor.com/).

They are qting $5,900 + tax for main house (abt. 1,564 sqft) and detached garage (836 sqft).

I am inclined to use these guys just because their paint is specially made for long lasting application.

Home Depot qtd abt. $3,500 for same job however they would use their "in-house" outdoor paint which i am dubious about its quality...

Any opinions?
Has anyone ever used the Siding Doctor before or done the job themselves?

Appreciate yr input.

I painted our alum siding using Behr exterior about 5 yrs ago. Still holding up well.
Cost about $400. worth of paint, IIRC, plus the sprayer I bought used.

We just had ours done last year cost us around 8k but our house is around 3500 sqft.

They did 2 coats and used a sherwin williams product, it was an exterior latex.

So far so good, no peeling or fading.

How much is it for new vinyl siding? if you insulate under the vinyl siding you will qualify for the ecoEnergy rebate as well. If it is available in Quebec. The rebates for insulated siding are pretty good. Then you also get the 15% federal rebate.

Adanac,

I am replacing my aluminium siding with wood. I didn't realize I would qualify for any rebates. If I insulate under the siding, I will receive 15% rebate on the cost of the siding? Is that correct? I went to HomeenergyOnario site and couldn't find any information on this.

Thanks.
