Gone by it many times near wellesley/yonge. No really yummy, a bit duisappointing. Had the special combo and a bbq beef dinner, nothing special lightly bbq meat - with red hot paste spread on (somehing like what you do with chicken wings), rice was mushy, veg was bean sprouts and pickled radish, came with scoup of potato salad (strange to see it on a korean menu) but didn't tourch it. Service poor, waitress never came back to check or fill water after dropping off food.
Not likely to go back. Sticking with Bloor resturants. What 's your experience here?

Yummy BBQ is more of a fast food korean restaurant so you should not expect service like regular restaurants.
You wouldn't expect great service at McDonalds would you?
The food is inexpensive and plentiful... the potatoe is actually ok.
I think you were expecting too much OP

They operated like regular resturant with table service - so one would expect regular service NOT self service.
Have you eaten there? Or are you related to the operator because it sure sounds like it? FYI -McDonalds has great service for what they do. They don't mislead you.
Food was sufficient but not good. There was no potato with the dinners but if all you want is volume then go for it. A full plate does not make up for poor food.
I for one don''t go to a Korean place for the potato and it must be bad if all you can say is that's something "good" that they serve.
Yes, it was like bad fast food. Anyone reading this - don't say you were not warned.

LOL... yah, I'm related to the operator...
Yummy BBQ isn't the greatest place to eat ... actually if you wanted authentic Korean you'd be paying $$. Authentic Korean food is expensive and yes even they serve those potatoe salads.

Authentic korean food isn't that expensive! Most of the restaurants on bloor or uptown charge like $7-15 for a main dish with unlimited side dishes. Authentic korean bbq is a bit more expensive at $20+ though.
But back to the OP, I agree that Yummy BBQ isn't that great. I've only eaten there twice for the lunch special, which was cheap and a big portion, but average at best. It's like the korean equivalent of Man Chu Wok.

I've been here before. Food is good but not great, selection is a little bit small, and its more like fast food/cafeteria, so you buy your food pay and sit down and eat nobody bothers you. IF you want water you'll have to ask or get it yourself, so if you're expecting fine dining go somewhere else (if you want service). Pretty much a standard korean fast food joint.

Just wondering what is Korean about potato and/or macaroni salad?
I for one would certainly not want nor order potato and/or macaroni salad at a Korean restaurant. Why would anyone go there for that?
But I guess some RFDers are fans of this place.
