Hi Folks
A/C installer came by the other day to do my AC, but the compressor is sitting in front of the house. His explanation that is the closest to the furnace, but this thing is big and I am going to be looking at it all day all night till I sell the house. (Look at the ELEVATION A)
I will like him to relocate the compressor to the side because I think he can find a spot less the 25ft from the furnace and therefore keep the effeciency.
I have not PAID this people yet because the will finish the job later, but I have decided to convince to move the A/C compressor to the side.
My neighbour's (exact same house) has her at the front last year and I thought thatwas ugly..
Is there anything I can do to convince these guys to move the compressor.
Is it possible to do. both sides of the house at attached with the garage but the back and side have some room to put the A/C
This is a drawing of the house.
Please take a look at the basement drawing as well..
thanks

I beleive as long as it's not against code that you can move it. He just needs to get longer copper. Tell him where you want it and get him to put it their. otherwise get someone else. I know they like to avoid bends though.

From the diagram, it might not be able to install the AC on the side of the house. It is too close to the property line, and your city by-law might have the limit on that. The only left option is to install it at the back of the house. Depends on your AC model/size, it might not be possible if the piping is longer than 25ft, but that cannot be sure unless you check out the manufacture spec.

This is an American Standard 13SEER 2Ton A/C..
I am also thinking to try the back of the house but the installers will have to think about the best possible solution to do this..
Thanks
