I'm loving it.

It seems like one of those games that you can get into fast, but will take a while to master. I had my doubts in terms of how they would implement transitions on the ground, and submissions, but THQ has done a pretty good job.

I kept getting owned by Liddell the first 5 matches, but now Shogun is showing him who's boss.

There are two ways to sub; 'Brute Force', which is tapping any of the face buttons as fast as you can while performing the sub, or 'Technical Sub', which is rotating the right thumbstick.

For a guy like Shogun, you dont want to use Brute Force because his power rating is only a 57. So the way to go is rotating the right thumbstick. However it's very rare that you're able to lock in a submission early in the fight, you almost need to wear your opponent down to have success with that. I've found it easier to pull off submissions in the late 2nd, early 3rd round.

the demo is amazing...i've been looking forward to this game but after playing this demo...its going to be a really long wait for the full game. I thought I was awesome at the game knocking shogun out at will but then i realized you can up the difficulty and playing on max difficulty...i get close to beating liddell if im shogun but he always gets a few too many superman punches in and knocks me out...or if im liddell...shogun takes me down at will and either submits me or ground and pound my face in. Gotta work on the ground game and transitions/transition reversing. i saw a link for the demo on megaupload...not sure if i could post that here or if it would go against the rules

I didn't go deep into the tutorial to learn the moves so basically was button mashing. Seems very deep and it's really satisfying knocking the guy out. I can only imagine playing co-op or online. I wasn't really planning on getting it but based on the demo, might pick it up day one. Still need to try out some submissions though.

i downloaded the demo for 360 and absolutely loved it!! also going to test out the PS3 version to decide which console to get it on.

This game is lots of fun, on my first try i put on beginner to test out the controls and I was Chuck Liddell and knocked out Shogun Rua in about 30 seconds with those deadly punches. I loved the impact of the hits when shown in replays.

THQ/Yukes did a excellent job with this game, and can't wait to get the full version.

I was trying to submit Liddell all night yesterday. Couldn't do it. Chuck would either reverse me or the ref kept stopping the match due to strikes.

I find the submissions a bit annoying, it's OK against a computer opponent, but me and my buddy were playing against each other the other day. Basically when one of us took the other down, the one on the bottom would just keep pressing R3 and the take down was turned into a reverse submission. Basically seemed to easy to execute a submission and take away any advantage the one who originally did the take down had. Other than that am really enjoying the game, can't wait to get the full version.

my guess would be you should try body shots instead of head shots or try to get side control and knee his ribs. If I'm not mistaken the reversal sub only works if you can grab the attackers arm while he is trying to strike.

I'm not as good as the guy with 4 seconds but I got a knockout in 8 seconds. I was actually just trying to hit Chuck in the face a few times so I could kick his legs out and go for a takedown.

Finally played the demo... this game is deeper than I expected. It's actually a very fun multiplayer game! Can't wait for the full release

the extra fighters will likely end up as paid DLC. I know the WWE games does it for new characters.

This game is fun for a while and I don't see how it can hold up over a long period of time. I have it preordered at EB so I will probably do the gaming guarantee.

Definitely a day 1 purchase for me!

Sure, the game has a learning curve, but almost all new games need getting use to and this is one of them. Once you get the hang of it, its awesome and extremely in-depth.

I think it takes some getting used to. From what I learned, if you're a strength-based fighter you need to mash the buttons to brute force out of a hold. If you have high submission defense, you rotate the analog to maneuver yourself.

The annoying part is that CPU loves to put you in a hold right at the beginning of a match... You can't do that in VS mode though
