Problem with trader..series1000

I recently purchased 2x1GB pc5300 ddr2 sodimms from this person. I promptly sent him a money order which he received and then sent out the ram. About a few days later he sent me a Pm stating that there was a problem with his package and that he had to go to the post office to try and send again...this was the last PM I have received from him since then. I have sent many PMs (all polite and courteous) all with no response.

It is only $30 and not like I am going insane over it but it is the principle...he has good refs and probably a minor mistake and unable to reply but I have yet to receive anything in the mail which has been more than ample time from Ontario to Sask.

If anyone knows this dude and can get in touch with him, I would appreciate it.
I don't want to make this messy with posts and threats...too much of that already on this forum.

You sent him a money order. Start by posting his name, address and phone number in this thread. That often gets their attention.

Yes it was a mistake, and I've already replied to pms (just finishe dsending one now before I even read this thread). Sorry im not here everyday and I did leave my # about a week ago and I have not received a call.


There is progress in this situation and I've never had trouble like this before. If you want you can post my information and suggest that I am a thief or whatever (ive done deals of way more than $30 funny I would start to steal now lol) but it wouldn't be a good idea.. especially if people want to start calling me a thief and posting phone numbers, names etc then I may have to sue RFD for slander.

If you like you can phone me at my direct line for a quicker response. You have the #. But anyways I've already sent you a PM now I just need your reply and I think we should be on our way to completing the transaction.

First, you're referring to libel, not slander.

Second, I don't see anyone libelling you in this thread.

Third, posting publicly available information is not actionable under privacy laws.

Fourth, you'd have to consult a lawyer, but I rather doubt RFD holds any liability for what is posted here. You probably agreed to that when you signed up.

slander, libel whatever. and it would come out sooner or later. just look at the other threads in this sub section. sooner or later someone will come out and do it, before or after the other dude who recommends the OP come to my place and "beat me" for the money back.

and if it isnt RFD who will pay for it, im sure someone will.

As I mentioned earlier...I was not going to be slamming anyone on this site...people make mistakes and if they make amends then I leave it alone..I was not even going to bother trying to recover $30....move on and deal somewhere else....yes he did leave me his phone number and I was unable to call him since we are 2 hours behind and I didn't think calling at late hours was appropriate and I work during the day....he has contacted me and is working to fix this deal...people need to leave him alone and consider this deal done and the thread deleted....have a nice day.

my earlier posts werent directed at you. i occasionaly read the other scammer threads and i see how people attack the accused and i thought it was just a matter of time before strangers who dont even know me, you or the situation would just come on and start flaming.

for the record you've been really passive with the whole thing and understanding and i appreciate it and i'll publicly apologize for the mistakes ive made with the transaction. im glad we are working it out and i hope it will be done soon.

Glad to see you took the matter seriously and are taking the appropriate measures to have it resolved. I only wish more traders would have some morals, apologize when they've made an error and resolved the situation before it got too out of hand.

Despite the delays in your transaction, you're handling the situation and mods should delete this thread once the buyer has received his/her items in as promised condition.

Glad you're sorting it out, but for future reference, you can't just sue for slander or libel. It sounds great on TV, but its an empty threat virtually all the time. Not only do you have to prove that what's being said/written isn't true (because if it is you're SOL), but you have to prove damages. Most of the stuff posted in these threads is opinion, so you'd have zero chance of bringing any of it into court and submitted, and what would you say anyways? They hurt your feelings? The JP would tell you they're sorry you feel bad, and hand you a bill for the courts time.

Dude, if you have the energy and the brains to hire a lawyer and sue RFD for "slander" why don't you have the same enthusiasm to refund this guy his $30 or sent the appropriate material to him? Don't be smart, it doesn't fit you.
