I need something (usb device) to control Powerpoint 2007 and 2003. Just something that can advance the slide forward or go backwards. That's all I need. If it had mouse capabilities too, that would be awesome.

Anyone know a good device that can do this? Or know a cheap place to buy it like canadacomputers or even dealextreme.

I used to use bluetooth connection to my Sony Ericsson w810i to control powerpoint

Now I use Blackberry.

It works without a hitch.

When I do presentations at school for classes, I use a notebook mouse with a few layers of tape blocking the optical sensor. That way, only the buttons work, and I can go forward / backward. It's simple / cheap, but works.

I think you're looking for a used one of these:

They are not manufactured anymore but maybe ebay/amazon/craigslist/kijiji might have it...

Or this:

They have these at Bestbuy from $40 or so. Rip off, IMO.

OP, just use a wireless mouse, or like someone said, use your phone, if you have a bluetooth-compatible laptop, or buy a adapter off DX for $2.xx.

A Gyration Air Mouse is a great little tool to have as well.

i have the targus presenter that is two models up from the one posted. . .it is awesome, but pricey (msrp $100+). it will do everything you want, and more.

i average 3-4 presentations a week and it's been rock solid for me for the last 2 years (knock on wood)

highly recommended

I got a logitech one like the one in the link above, and it works great.

It is def overpriced at retail, but I got one new in the packaging for about $20 on ebay.
