So I'm somehow now getting spam to my Gmail account, which is really weird because I only use my Gmail account for school and work, and a few family contacts. Everything else (contests, newsletters, etc) I send to my hotmail address.
Anyways, I'm getting a lot of the cliche spam now (it's 100% for viagra and viagra clones) and it's all one-liners with a link to a different website every time... different URL anyway, the layouts are all pretty much the same... Out of curiosity, are these sites even real or are they just scams to get CC numbers?
I'm not overly concerned because it all gets caught and sent to the spam folder, but if anyone has any ideas how I could get rid of it I'm all ears. Rather, my real question was this: How are they sending it to me? I'd say about 70% of the mail I get isn't even directed to my e-mail address. For example:
from: Houston Epps <buzzesy6@panuvi.com>
to: jackname@gmail.com
date: Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 4:51 AM
subject: Price for Viagra 100mg x 60 pills $129.95
Obviously I'm not "Jackname@gmail.com" ...
Thoughts?
