how the heck do you transfer videos to your pc from this stupid thing. I keep hearing about firwire but this cam doesn't have a firewire port all it has is av and mic port and a dc in 8.4v port which is the charger port. i don't think it's possible but am asking to make sure because I don't know much about camcorders

You need to get one of these accessories

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=227&modelid=8621#SNAModelSuppliesAct

The STV-250N or the firewire cable.

Then you need some method of saving the video onto the pc.

STV-250N Mini Plug to RCA is what you need.

Ok, let's clear things up. Do you want to record onto VHS tapes, or do you want to record onto your PC?

Your first post said PC, there is a firewire cable available, part number CV-150F.

Your subsequent post mentioned VHS, which you would need the STV-250N

thanks, what I want is to record on pc but if I can't do that then to record on vcr it seems i can't record on pc though because there is no firewire port on my mini dv it's not really mine it's my families, i can't believe it has no options to record on pc

If you look on Canon's site, it shows the ZR60 as compatible using that exact cable.
