My first time connecting a SATA harddrive. I've connected the power and data cable. What's the 4 pin connector on the harddrive for?
Thanks.

Molex power connector? The jumper pins?
Regardless of what it may be, you don't need it.

Some older SATA drives have both the SATA power and normal 4-pin molex. You only need to plug one in.

Ignore the jumpers
They are used for various things. Some old motherboards only support SATA I and the jumpers will set it back to SATA I (150) instead of SATA II (300)
