I currently use rogers and am fed up with them throttling my internet. Are there other option for me? i have checked Teksavvy and Acanac and they say they don't service my area!
Any help???
thanks in advance.

If you can't get DSL, then you are stuck with Rogers.
There are other choices, but they are more expensive and some are even slower than Rogers.
Looks like you are out of luck

You mean downloading a bunch of 1's and 0's is illegal? How is that possible?
Why is it the consumers fault that the content providers will not provide online modes of viewing? 3% of Canadian feel that "illegal" downloading should be punished. Really this is more of a argument of old business models that are now becoming irrelevant. But instead of moving with the times and adapting to the new business they instead sue their consumers and do whatever they can do protect their old business model. The worst part is, that the online media distribution would greatly benefit the artist (see Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead).
Response to the original question is if you live to far to get DSL and you live in an area serviced by Rogers you don't have much of a choice. 3Web resells Rogers Cable internet so if you don't want to support rogers you could check them out. If you can get DSL than I would recommend TekSavvy as it is the best ISP in Ontario.

I was actually checking out the 3web (or is it CIA) website and they have a package of:
" Package includes:
* Free High Speed Internet, up to 10 Mbps
* Free local calls
* Free calling to Canadian cities
* A new phone number (or keep your old one)
* All the popular calling features
All this for just $39.95 per month.
"
link: https://www2.cia.com/products/phoneBasic.html
So is it 39.95 for 10mbps and phone or will the 39.95 go up if you want the 10mbps service.
you have an option of choosing either cable or dsl to be connected to your house.

Check out Primus Internet at www.Primus.ca. I just contacted them yesterday. Their prices are competitive, and they told me that that they own their own network and are not dependent on Bell. So it's possible that they may be able to serve your area even if others can't.

maybe you can include some of the following.
what type of net access u want, how long u want per month per use, how much you can spend, what kinds of things do u do online, your type of system, etc.

I've read horror stories about them so do a search and you'll find out first hand. Tek Savvy is always the first one to get recommended around here for DSL.
