The city's two top addresses for parking tickets last year were Sunnybrook, with 8,875 tickets, or 24 a day, and the Sherway Gardens mall in Etobicoke, (across the street from the Trillium Health Centre) with 7,095 written, or nearly 20 a day. Here are the top 10:

1) 2075 BAYVIEW AVE 8875
Sunnybrook
2) 25 THE WEST MALL 7095
Sherway Gardens mall, across the street from the Trillium Health Centre
3) 1750 FINCH AVE E 5670
Seneca College - Newnham Campus
4) 20 EDWARD ST 4440
World's Biggest Book Store
5) 60 MURRAY ST 3041
Near Mount Sinai and Princess Margaret
6) 25 ST MARY ST 2780
Near Yonge and Charles
7) 2401 YONGE ST 2571
Near Yonge and Eglinton
8) 1265 MILITARY TR 2497
U of T Scarborough campus
9) 110 ELM ST 2307
Hospital for Sick Children
10) 3030 BIRCHMOUNT RD 2269
Scarborough Hospital - Grace Division

The city as a whole had about 2.8 million parking tickets written last year.

Hospitals seem to attract parking violators, or parking enforcement, depending on your point of view. This also applies to hospitals outside the downtown core - Sunnybrook, Toronto Western, the East General and especially St. Joseph's (see below) all have icons. The Distillery District also seems to get a lot of attention, though whether the area has an epidemic of illegal parking or is just a short walk from 51 Division is an open question.

Thats a good way of taking another hit on people who are visiting their loved ones who are ill.

Parking at Trillium sucks and is pricey.

Sherway has ample room, so people just park there and walk over. So either you get hit with the cost of parking at Trillium, or the fine at Sherway.

4) EDWARD ST. is also where you park if you wish to request to fight your parking ticket.
It's a total scam, you pay for an hour parking so you can line-up to fight your ticket. Turns out the line-up was 2hrs so you come back to your car only to see a brand new ticket on your windshield. The cycle continues.

There should be something in place allowing you to park around hospitals. It's getting pretty ridiculous (I've even gotten a ticket for parking in my own driveway.) Recently in the news a lady visiting for cancer treatment with a valid handicap parking permit got a $450 ticket because the rubber band holding it in place covered one of the digits in the expiry (it was still obvious when it expired.)

People driving themselves to the hospital or visiting sick people do not care about parking rules, there are more important things on their minds.

It is a shame that the city preys on people who are ill.

The security are Sherway Gardens are madmen when it comes to ticketing...I guess that's why it's so high (considering it's just open, public parking)

Also doesn't help a lot of the richer people just park their cars wherever they want...I used to work there and always saw Hummers, Range Rovers, Cayennes just parked up on curbs when there was no parking available

It'd be absolute mayhem if people were allowed to park wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted to.

Seneca at #3...wow.

its stupid that they changed their system, they used to be u have to pay at the gate first before u are able to park. Now u park first then buy ticket at the booth, and based on the above stats, not everyone is paying

Nice, no wonder we need to open up 6 more courts to clear up the backlog of tickets. Than again I think some of these parking cops still write tickets even though your ticket on the dash is valid but they pretend like they can't see it and just wanna meet their quote. Happened to me once and wasted half a day fighting it and it got dropped because my ticket was valid still but not according to the ticket issued.
