Bad news for those who were hoping their court date never appears:

Toronto - It will soon be easier to fight City Hall, with the first of six new courtrooms to open in Toronto at the end of the month.

The new space, as well as two newly hired justices of the peace, will deal with the huge backlog of parking tickets and other minor offenses.

Each courtroom will be able to process over 100 tickets a day.

In the past, the backlog of cases meant the vast majority of contested parking tickets never made it to trial.

yeah, that sucks balls... for City of Toronto.

because most of the tickets you've gotten up until this point will still take more than a year to make it to any of these courts... if they ever make it.

and when they make it to the court, you can always claim it took too long to get to the court (whatever that legal term is for filing the documents and claiming the way too long period of time elapsed until you got to the court, etc).
