torsion axel???

Hi, does anybody know about torsion axels??? Specifically, I want to buy a utility trailer with a torsion axel. I know, that with leaf springs, you can kind of gauge when you have reached max load by how much the leaf spring is compressed. But is there any way to estimate when you are reaching the max load on a torsion axel, as you load up the trailer???:?:

Torsion axels are basically independ axels they are not solid like axel with leaf springs. I'm not sure how you can guage one of those axels when you put on a load? I would kind of think just as long as the Tires don't rub the Fenders??

I believe the pay load is a bit higher but it depends on tire size I would guess.
